Camp Assistants (CA)

16-17 entering the 12th grade

Volunteer!  For 3 weeks of the summer, CA's take on the challenges of leadership at YMCA Camp Surf. Perfect for teens who have been a part of a leadership program at our camps (SOUL, LIT, etc) or who have demonstrated leadership skills through school, volunteer, or work experiences.  The positions are highly competitive, and we look for teens who have demonstrated responsibility and a strong interest in working with children.

Leaders are not born, they develop through opportunity to build skills and experience.  CA's get a true feeling for what it is like to be a camp counselor since they live with a cabin group, help plan special events, and rotate each week through different areas in camp, to assist with our youngest age group of campers in Day Camp, Mariners, and Arts & Crafts.

2008 Dates:

June 22 - July 11     July 13 - August 1      Aug 3 - 22
