Special Projects at YMCA Camp Surf

New Grass Play Field, $25,000

Our only grass continues to be a challenge to maintain.  The irrigation system is old and inadequate and poor grass quality make sports and activities difficult.  Project includes grading, tilling, soil amendments, plumbing and irrigation equipment.

Public Address System, Ocean Waterfront, $3000

The system used by Camp Surf Lifeguard Service is approaching need of replacement.

Waterfront Center Renovation, $50,000

The ocean waterfront facility is the program focus of Camp.  Improvements here include 2 new Lifeguard Towers, 100 new wetsuits and a storage building.

New Campfire Pits for Beach Camping

Up to 8 total, $400 each, $3,200 total.

Beach camping is extremely popular, serving over 7,000 children annually.  Old fire pits are crumbling and in need of replacement.

"Composting Toilets" at Waterman Village, $24,000

Currently, we rent porta-potties for Waterman Village.  In their place, we propose state-of-the-art toilets are popular in State and National Parks as they are essenitally "stand-alone", not requiring extensive infrastructure.

Skateboards, padding, helmets, $200 each
