Special Projects at Raintree Ranch
Shade Shelter for Saddling Pen, $27,000
It's hot at Raintree during the summer months! Lots of campers and staff spend time saddling, grooming and preparing for riding in the saddling pen. This project would purchase a permanent, steel-pole shade-structure over the entire area. The shelter would immediately drop the heat-index in this active work area by 20+ degrees!
New Conestoga Sleeper-Wagons (2-3), $10,000 each
In 2006, the first of these distinctive units were added near the Raintree Bunkhouse, thanks to a gift from Ruth & King Hamill. Each one has 8 bed spaces and ties in beautifully with our western ranch theme. The wagons are used by our older campers for more of a small-group, outdoor camping experience.
Renovation of the Bunkhouse Bathroom, $35,000
Great news! "Under Construction"! Thanks to the generosity of Raintree Ranch parents that voluntarily paid the extra B- or C-prices, we are moving forward with this project, Fall, 2007.
The partitions for showers and toilets, the sinks and counter-tops in this bathroom are in need of replacement. This project would include modern high-strength plastic partitions, solid counter-tops and new sinks. The 700 girls that use this facility each summer (along with thousands of year-round campers) would sure appreciate this gift!
Costume and prop-storage shed near stage, $1500
The outdoor stage and campfire area down at the lower riding arena would benefit from a storage shed.
Climbing Wall-Tower, $25,000
Currently, Raintree campers hike down to Marston to utilize the climbing tower there. A new facility, smaller but more creative, with overhangs and turns, would be a tremendously popular addition to Raintree programming.
Institutional Furniture for Upstairs Barn, $5000
This popular meeting space and gathering area would be much improved with quality couches, chairs and tables.
